A medical check-up is an important part of maintaining good health. It will help you identify any health problems you may have and allow you to take action before they become more serious.
A health check covers five main areas:
- General examination
- Blood tests
- Physical tests (e.g. ECG, urinalysis)
- Tests for specific conditions (e.g. diabetes, heart disease)
- Screening tests (e.g. for cancer or HIV).
Our clinic offers all patients a complete health examination, also known as a Preventive Health Examination (PHE) or comprehensive check-up. A comprehensive health check-up allows you to take stock of your health at any time.
WHAT IS A HEALTH CHECK?
The Preventive Health Examination (PHE), or comprehensive check-up, allows you to meet with a multidisciplinary team of health professionals and undergo health and screening tests. The frequency depends on a number of factors (age, medical history, addictions, etc.). However, your doctor’s advice is essential to determine the right frequency for you.
The check-up takes place at our clinic. The appointment lasts approximately 2 hours and includes a range of analyses and tests depending on the patient’s profile. Our health service includes:
- Biological tests (blood and/or urine tests)
- Electrocardiogram
- Verification of weight, height, abdominal circumference and blood pressure
- Full medical examination
Depending on the type of patient, additional tests may be requested by the doctor.
WHEN SHOULD I HAVE A MEDICAL CHECK-UP?
You should have a check-up at least once a year. Some people need more frequent check-ups, for example if they have risk factors for certain diseases (such as high blood pressure).
